This past November, we had the opportunity to travel to some amazing places as part of a family trip with my parents and sister. My father was born in China and raised in Hong Kong, and it has always been a dream of mine to see where he grew up. My parents decided to take us all along on a memorable vacation that consisted of flying over the arctic, exploring Hong Kong, a day trip to Macau, seeing my dad’s hometown in Canton, bamboo rafting the Li River, biking in the Guilin countryside, eating with a local minority family near the rice terraces, hiking to different villages, surviving the 20 degree Beijing weather (too cold for us FL natives!), and hiking the Great Wall. It was two non-stop weeks of traveling and exploring fascinating places. Today is the Chinese New Year so I thought it would be fitting to share a few personal photos from our trip.
Here are some favorites taken by Kevin and I:
Friends of Hiro. Used to bartend at Dragonfly, so I am sure we have met before. Really glad I clicked Hiro’s link, what beautiful pictures. Have a good day!
Kind regards,
Wow, what an experience… amazing!
Fantastic photos, Becca! I lived in Beijing for six months in 2010, and also traveled to Guilin while I was there–you really captured the spirit and texture of China in these images!
